How does CozySculpt Micro Cannula Work?

1.Puncture a hole into the skin

The gauge of the sharp needle needs to be slightly superior to the gauge of the microcannula in use.
>The 30G & 27G cannulas come packaged with a 26G sharp needle
>The 25G cannulas come packaged with a 23G sharp needle
>The 22G cannulas come packaged with a 21G sharp needle
TIP: Use the length of the Microcannula as a point of reference to where to make the hole.
2.Insert the tip of the Microcannula into the skin
>Insertion of the tip of the microcannula should be from a 60 to 90 degree angle until the correct depth has been found.
>Pinch the skin to create a small drop of blood out of the puncture hole which should help you locate the hole.
>Stretch the skin opposite direction with the non-injecting hand to help enlarge the puncture hole.
>Place the index finger of the injecting hand close to the tip of the microcannula to help guide the cannula into the skin,or hold the syringe like a dart.
TIP: If you want to remain superficial, by pushing the cannula against the skin, The cannula bends and the tip goes back up.
3.Slide the CozySculpt ® Microcannula into the skin
As you are entering the skin, rotate the cannula tangentially to the skin surface using the flexibility of the microcannula.
TIP: If any resistance is encountered, go back and forth without forcing.
4.Inject filler in a retrograde fashion
Start injecting while pulling the length of the microcannula in and out of the skin. To change direction, pull the cannula out of the skin almost entirely, back to step two (leaving the tip at the desired depth).
TIP: You can fan the area 360 degrees around the hole.
It’s recommended to massage the skin after the injection to make sure the filler has been evenly distributed.

Micro Cannula VS Needle

Traditional needles are more rigid with a sharp tip. It’s those features that make the needle an exact instrument, allowing providers to target and deliver substances into specific anatomic planes. Since it’s a conventional method, easier for clinicians who are already using needles to inject other substances.

However, the sharp end can be traumatic for the skin, causing significant bruising or swelling. Needles can also penetrate blood vessels, especially arteries. Injecting filler into arteries can result in blindness, stroke, or skin death in the treatment areas.

A microcannula’s blunt tip, along with its flexible technique, provide several advantages over traditional needles:

High Maneuverability: Because of its flexibility, microcannulas allow providers to perform procedures quickly and painlessly.

Fewer Points of Entry: The microcannula’s longer length allows it to reach more areas of the face without creating multiple entry points. Blunt-tipped microcannulas can use the same entry point to treat a larger area without additional needle pricks. This reduction in entry points greatly minimizes discomfort and ensures continuous filler distribution in areas that are difficult to reach, such as the jaw.

Minimal Pain: Repeated shots with sharp needles can be uncomfortable. Microcannula injections tend to be less painful, with patients describing the experience as “pressure” rather than “pain.”

Less Downtime and Fewer Side Effects: Since there are fewer entry points when using the microcannula, patients have less bruising and swelling than they might experience with needle injections.
